Now whose idea was that?

Editors are often accused of taking the credit for the efforts of their staff - but not Bristol Evening Post boss Mike Norton.

After handing over the prize for Supplement of the Year at yesterday's Regional Press Awards, presenter Nick Ferrari revealed Norton had told him:  "It wasn't my idea, you know!"

A few minutes later Norton was back on the stage to collect the award for Front Page of the Year.

According to Ferrari, Norton's response was:  "You can stop taking the p**s now - this one WAS my idea!"
